Hello all,
So, for those who have been following my 10 day old blog you will know me as Virginie (aka LaChouett) and also know that I am a newbie at this new blogging adventure.
Like a lot of new bloggers, I have decided to enrol on the Blogging101 course offered by WordPress so that I can learn a few things.
Our instructor has given us a few pointers by given us a few questions that I will be attempting to answer in this first blogging assignments.
- Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
Interestingly enough, I really did not consider a personal journal at all, it did not even enter my mind.
I launched Chouett has a means to post my reviews about the books I have read and I guess that I have an interest in sharing them, so I decided that a public platform was appropriate.
- What topics do you think you’ll write about?
That’s a good question. I will certainly write about books which is a pretty vast subject since they are so many genres out there, but I would also like to write about blogging as a beginner and look back on that experience a year from now.
- Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
Well, I have a real penchant for reviewing books from relatively unknown authors so connecting with them via Chouett would be great. I would also like to connect with other readers and get a few reading recommendations. Lastly, I would love to connect with other bloggers on a similar journey. At the same time, I do not want to shut myself off from any opportunities so I am quite happy to go with the flow and see where it takes me.
- If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished
Hopefully, I will have read a lot more books and posted reviews on them which would have prompted others to read those books too.
I also hope that I will have learned from the all blogging experience a year on…and be still at it.

I’m a compulsive reader so it’s nice to find other readers out there. While many folks say they read, I find that most of them don’t read on the scale that I do, so often they don’t read many categories of books and as a result don’t understand why I’d be reading teen fiction, island biogeography, history of English and the back of the shampoo bottle.
