My first #2016classics challenge selections

Classics and I have never had the greatest relationship.

Not sure whether my French mother tongue has anything to do with it, but reading classics and understanding them has been a struggle in the past. However, until recently I came across one that I not only understood and read in its entirety but I also somewhat enjoyed called “Jamaica Inn” by Daphne Du Maurier.  So why not read more?!

There are so many to choose from that I keep changing my mind. So I am going to start small and keep it to 3 which should take me to March 2016 and they are, “The Picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde, “Wuthering Heights” by Emily Bronte and “Dracula” by Bram Stoker.

I will let you know what I think!!

  3. That is a beautiful copy of Wuthering Heights! I read it a long time ago and loved the book but hated all the characters 😂. I’ll look forward to your updates on Dorian Gray too! 😊

    1. Wow! It’s amazing. You loved the book but not the characters?! That is a testament to good writing I guess!

I really enjoyed The Picture of Dorian Gray and although there are certain parts that are more difficult to get through, there are many different aphorisms that can inspire you to think.

    Good luck!
