Bonjour Everyone!!
I am Virginie aka LaChouett and welcome to my blog.
My personal reading journey started at the beginning of 2014.
I had set myself up a personal reading goal of 12 books to read and ended up reading a total of 60 books in the past year.
Throughout this reading year I not only realised that I absolutely looooooooove reading but I also enjoy talking about the books I read, hence “Chouett” the blog.
I am one of those “curious” reader and will not stick to just one genre. I enjoy reading well established authors however I have really enjoyed receiving pieces from unknown writers that I have provided with an honest review in return for their gift.
There is so much talent out there…just waiting to be read.
From time to time you might see me posting some photos…little interest of mine i discovered I had. Another facet of a creative side I am exploring. I might even take a chance at writing a small piece…a very little one though. Who knows?! 🙂
In any case feel free to come along and share this journey with me…Let’s see where it takes us.
A big thank you for the Chouett logo by http://www.mrhoyte.com

Thank you! What does Liebster mean?

There’s more about it on my blog post, but it is a German word meaning lots of things including lovely and welcome (or so I read when I looked it up!) Your challenge – should you choose to accept it – is here! https://cotswoldviews.wordpress.com/2015/01/25/lovely-liebsters/

Yes, the word was new to me too. My German is rather limited – which is also mentioned in my post 😉

Also, I was going to nominate you for a Liebster, for your blog and all your enthusiasm for connecting with other bloggers, but saw someone else already has. Looking forward to the book reviews and following you on Instagram too. 🙂

I think your blog is absolutely “delicious” and maybe we should have a “Delicious” blog award to promote blog like yours!! If anything, it was a pleasure to browse through and I find myself with a strange macaroon fancy!!

Hi Chouett,
I’ve passed on to you The Versatile Blogger Award. You’ll find all the details on the following page of My Creative Cosmos: http://mycreativecosmos.com/the-versatile-blogger/ (Only accessed via the badge among the widgets on the left-hand side – for now anyway.)
I hope you’ll accept it with the grace in which it is given. Who am I kidding? You deserve it.

As you were not a younger reader, perhaps a few words on what inspired you would be great encouragement for a younger generation and what you feel it would have given you had you decided to. I am also guilty of that. I always read fact rather than fiction. Big mistake!

Your color frame is beautiful in the background. I agree that there is so much talent out there but is not discovered yet. I like the fact you read over 60 books last year, five times your goal for the year. I’m impressed!

I love your enthusiasm for books. It’s so easy for writers to think that the habit of reading–no, the love of reading–is dying out. But it’s not. People are still picking up books and giving themselves to new worlds. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Greetings! As I read your about info I was smiling. Mr. Quantum, my other half, is one of the most consummate readers I’ve ever met. As we began our life together, 18 years ago, he was struggling to keep up with a 50 books a year schedule. Now we’re retired, and I’ve seen him go as high as 167 books in a year. His book nook has his pile of books which he reads. Most of the time there are often 10 books, which he read at the same time. Now with a kindle in his hands, his daily quotas are quite amazing. He even keeps stats. Since 1970, he began keeping a log of all the books he reads. He just told me his total to date is 2,011 books since beginning to keep a record. Like you, he reads a variety of books, though his love is physics, and biographies, classics, and has read quite a bit of fiction. My mind boggles at it. But I have my own reading ‘program.’ It’s not regimented, but I grew up with parents who valued books and I remember when we moved up here, that it was the built in bookcases which cinched the deal. I hope to share more about the books you and I have both read, and which we might have in common.
