I think that Book 3 was a tough act to follow, so in truth the rating for this 4th installment is more a 3.5 star than as 3.

There are parts of the story that I absolutely loved and some that I liked less:

I think that Butch being a fully fledged member of the BDB in all aspect is great. I also thought that Marissa coming into her own was good although predictable.

I did not really enjoy the family story side of Butch. I think it was rushed and not fleshed out enough, but hey, I am not a writer so this is only my opinion.

This is still a very good installment in the series that should be read as it introduces a lot of new elements to the plot.
