Get your summer off to a steamy start with Mandy Baggot and her sizzling new read, Truly Madly Greekly.
The Blurb:
Sun, sea and a sexy stranger – a whole lot of fun just got a lot more complicated.
Capable, confident and career-driven, Ellen had her dream job and a marriage proposal from boyfriend Ross. Life was good, her future set. Until it wasn’t and everything fell apart…
Whisked off to the beautiful island of Corfu to plan her sister Lacey’s big, fat, Greek wedding, Ellen is hoping some time out will help clear her head and heal her heart. But letting go of her past is not going to be easy.
With Lacey in full on Bridezilla mode, Ellen is soon distracted from her own problems. And when the all-inclusive treats on offer at hotel Blue Vue include one gorgeous, brooding Adonis – Yan – Ellen finds him difficult to resist.
But Ellen isn’t looking for love or lust, or anything involving too much ouzo…or is she?
Fans of Lucy Diamond, Miranda Dickinson and Lindsey Kelk will want to escape to Corfu with Mandy Baggot this summer.
Out of the 30 odd books that I have read so far in 2015 only 4 are comtemporary romances. I tend to be picky as it is not usually the genre I go for. I unfortunately came across too many one-dimensional romance reads in the past. I am glad to say that so far I have read only little gems and ‘Truly, Madly, Greekly” is one of them.
In this novel, Mandy takes us to the ideallic setting of Corfu. Have any of you been there before? Well, I haven’t but I definitely want to now :)!
The lovely hotel of Blue Vue welcomes holiday makers all year around and Ellen and her sister Lacey are here to enjoy all it has to offer while wedding planning for Lacey. This beautiful island however, receives an Ellen who is really down on her luck and expertly hides her troubling situation from her loved ones. She uses this opportunity to escape her woes for a while at least , until she will have to inevitably go back home to England and face the music. But while in Corfu, Ellen meets Yan…
There are a lot of reasons why I enjoyed this novel, one of them being its light-hearted feel after my last read. But more importantly , I was pleasantly surprised to see that the author was exploring matters that are very current in our society, such as immigration for example with Yan coming to Corfu to make a better life for himself, even illiteracy was touched upon. But enough with the heavy :)!
I supposed the aspect I enjoyed the most, was to see the contrast between the sisters, were Lacey was carefree to the point where her decisions could wreck her life, whereas Ellen was the one everyone relied on and could never ever mess up as she was seen as the responsible one.
Anyway, I will let you pick up this book so you can find out for yourself how these two ladies come out of their predicament.
One lovely message however was conveyed through this read which is that sometimes, you can’t just fix everything by yourself and it is ok to ask for help.
